Judy Dress
Judy Carol Olsen was born on January 21, 1947. Born and raised in Downingtown,
she was the daughter of Dorothy Cook Olsen Wagner and the late Neils Chrisman Olsen.
She was a life time member of St. James’ Episcopal Church. She was a member of
vestry 1976- 1979. Judy was Junior Warden from 1976 to 1977 and in 1978 was honored
to be the first female named to the Senior Warden position. Judy was also very
active with the youth group of St. James’.
Judy graduated from Downingtown High School in 1964 and later from the Goldey
Beacom School of Business. She was employed by Mobile Dredging and Pumping Co.
in Exton, where she began as a clerk in the office. During her 22 years of service
she was promoted to office manager, as well as the officer title of Secretary/Treasurer.
She also held the position of corporate secretary with the Chicago, Ill. parent
company. She retired in 1991. From 1992 to 1998 she worked in the office of
the Thorndale Inn.
She married her husband, Adam Dress in 1986. In 1998, she and Adam retired
to Sun City Vistoso, Oro Valley Arizona. There she became a member of many
committees, clubs and groups. She enjoyed sculpting and being coeditor of the
Tipster, Sun City’s monthly newsletter.
Judy died Sunday, January 15, 2006, at home following a lengthy bout with
cancer. This website is dedicated in Judy’s memory; for all that she and her
family have done for St. James’.
