Lord's Pantry of Downingtown
The Pantry is an all year outreach program. We have a shopping cart for donations of food, and monetary gifts are always welcome to help with overhead expenses. St. James' has helped with a "Souper Bowl" Sunday held on Super Bowl Sunday, with the Thanksgiving Day Baskets and the Angel Tree at Christmas. Thank you to the members of St. James' who donate monthly to support the Pantry. Jan Leaf, director and her volunteers spend untold unpaid hours coordinating the Pantry's many activities. Last year the Pantry served 2,566 households (4285 adults, 3545 children and 472 seniors) in Downingtown. The Pantry now serves the Exton/Lionville area and is supported by the churches in that area. There are about 30 volunteers, but new volunteers are always needed and welcomed.
