United Thank Offering
St. James' starts its United Thank Offering project in September after Sunday School begins. The UTO, as it is known, is a ministry whereby everyone - men, women, and children - converts their appreciation of God's many blessings into currency. The practice of contributing to the work of UTO begins with a little blue Box in the home. The blue Boxes are given to our Sunday School students. Each time they feel thankful for something they are to put coins in the box. We also send out Blue envelopes in the monthly Newsletter. UTO raises between 2.5 - 3 million dollars each year for use in both domestic and international projects to support grants, missions and ministry of the Episcopal Church. Through our prayers and thankful giving we reach out in the world to bring hope and improve lives.
